We spend 3 days on this bus. We got on and off often. This is the ideal way to see this entire big city. We took both the Blue and Red tours and used this to go to the Asia side of Istanbul. We never waited more than 10 minutes for the next bus to arrive. The information and history lesson were very valuable. We used this instead of taxis and loved it…..highly recommended.

Buying the ticket is a small investment because you can use it a couple days for the two routes. The traffic not always helps but it was safe and not too crowded in february. The view from the bridge that goes to Asia ia the best.

Our experience of “Big bus Istanbul”
We bought the tickets and travelled on the red and blue routes. When we took it for the time we were not able to get a seat in the lower level. It was evening time when the trip started from the blue mosque. It was bearably cold. However, as the night started to set in the temperature dropped and the plastic covers we’re not fit to be closed or anchored. It was extremely uncomfortable for us and we anxiously waited for the trip to come to an end.
Our subsequent trips were awesome since we could get a seat in the lower deck.
We want to appreciate a staff member named Mr Ulas, who convinced us to buy the tickets. He appeared to care for his clients needs. Because of his support and guidance our second and third trips were comofortable and enjoyable.
    Thanks a lot Mr Ulas:)

Our experience with big bus was stunning. It felt very nice to see this beautiful city on the top of bus in a sunny Istanbul day. And stuff was also too friendly, they did everything to make us comfortable. Especially the guy named Aziz was amazing.

Best way to start Istanbul tour from Sultanahmet Square, easy to hop on and hop off at sightseeings, attractions and awesome restaurants. Big Bus runs two routes : blue and red route, both are covered by same ticket but different buses. Staff was very friendly and helpful especially Mertcan. We purchased 1 day ticket and got 2nd day free ticket….used it for 2 days and covered major attractions in this amazing city. Looking forward to come back here soon.

The place is starting 45 € and very nice
The team is very good and kindly. Thank you so much BigBus.

It is fairly possible to do both routes in the same day, and even visit in detail some key attractions. Suggest planning spending time in Sultanahmet park, visiting both Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia, and sepping off in Taksim square and walking down to Galata bridge. The two-days offer allows for much better coverage if you have the time. Don’t reccommend extyending the option to the water bus, there are much better cruises (especially on the small local boats)

We took the two day ticket, and did the Blue route, jumped off and did the Red route…and then decided where we would hop on and hop off the following day…We went to the Greek Orthodox Church, then onto the Cable Car and then visited Minature Turkey….but as it was winter, we then ran out of time. It was very comfortable on the upper deck, and although winter, we had two sunny days. We then had another 3 days to explore the rest of Istanbul by foot….oh yes the bus has free wifi….

During a recent stay in Istanbul, we utilized the Big Bus Tour to tour the city and used the bus service as transportation from and between the major sites. The tour is well operated; provides adequate commentary (in a variety of languages); the buses operate frequently and the staff is helpful. Good job; there are two lines with the Red line being a bit longer and more interesting. We had no problem getting on and off the bus, and getting seats once on the bus, even though its always busy in Istanbul. This service is not expensive and a good way to see the sites and get an overview of this very large city.

Take a tour around Istanbul on a bus (a double-dekker). The best option is to go with family tickets, which enables you to enjoy a discount. There are “blue” and “red” tour, as well as Bosphorus tour which you can get with a fair discount if you go for the whole package. The best option is to sit on the open upper deck and to plug in your earphones and listen. The audio is very informative. The bus will stop occasionally at some interesting places and you can disembark at your will. Every 30 minutes another bus comes along and you can hop back on and continue your tour. Just be sure to have your ticket with you at all times. You ticket is worth for 24 hours. This is one of the best ways to get acquainted with this beautiful city.

We really enjoyed this tour – was a cheap and convenient way of getting to places we wouldn’t otherwise have gone to – for example actually going over the Bosphorus Bridge into Asia.
There are 2 routes, Red and Blue, this review is for the Red route. We picked it up on the second stop as was nearest our hotel and it is valid for 24 hours so we knew it would go back to stop 1 anyway. Istanbul is notorious for its traffic but at least on the bus you’re out in the sunshine (or downstairs in the air conditioning) and not on the smelly and crowded trams/buses.
The earphones provided mean you can listen to descriptions and information in any one of 7 different languages. We found there were a couple of earphone ports that didn’t work so you have to check that as soon as you get a seat in case the bus fills up and you miss out on the content.
I would recommend this tour and do it again if we visit another city where these operate.

Best way to see this great city. Look for uniformed staff is my only advuce and ask for the free wifi code when you join the tours.

we did the 24 hour pass – and it was excellent. it’s a great way to see more of the city – and to get your ‘bearing’ as to where everything is. Be careful and if you’re on the top deck – WEAR SUNSCREEN – we fried!!!
the red tour is FAR more instersting than the blue route.

Had an amazing experience on the big bus tour! The staff were very helpful and there were several buses available to hop on and off. The information about the history was informative and helped make the tour memorable! This is a must tour if you want to take in all the amazing sites of Istanbul.

We did this off our cruise ship the day in Port and it was definitely worth the ride.
I love the hop on hop off idea, complete with commentary in 8 languages you really can’t go wrong.
There are 2 routes though we only did the RED one. The added bonus was FREE WIFI on the bus, what a great idea.
We then spent 4 days in Istanbul and knew what we wanted to see and whereabouts it all was.

    It was useful for me.
It gives me a feeling that i have been lived here before.

There are 2 tours with Big Bus Tours – the Red Route and the Blue Route. As the ticket was for 48 hours, we did one tour in the afternoon and the other the next afternoon. The Red Route goes up the east coast, over the Bosphorus Bridge and back. It was supposed to take about an hour, but with the traffic jams it took 2 hours. Maybe the morning would have been better.

With a lot of station options, Big Bus must definitely be your first address when you arrive in Istanbul. Hop on – hop off services work very nicely. Free WiFi and complimentary audio guidance are a few quality service examples of your tour. Begin your journey at the heart of the Istanbul and travel through the veins of the city, as you listen to its culture and history.
